In bits and pieces

September 23, 2005

*Sigh*

What a difficult past few days it’s been for me. I’m glad that tomorrow is Friday. Lets see here.

Slept over a mates place on the weekend which was really fun. Also got to watch Steamboy which was a great movie. Gave out more info about this SSBM tournament. It seems as though someone can’t some and probably even another person which sucks big time. One of them can’t go because he has Tennis but the other one has a choice, go to the SSBM tournament or go to a Magic the Gathering tournament. It looks like he’ll choose the Magic one. Argh that sucks. Crappy magic cards, such a waste of time.

Anyways, today I had to do a 5 minutes Chinese oral presentation to my Chinese class. I had been working all week to ensure that it was good. I did a really good job. Hardly any mistakes. I am so pleased about it. It was not very in depth but I’ll work on that next year.

I’ve also been trying to keep up with school, so much work to do. At least most of my assignments are finished so now I can do a bit of revising over some stuff that I’m not too good at.

Haven’t really been playing many games recently. I’m stuck in all of them and probably won’t be getting another one for a while. Its strange, I haven’t really been doing anything recently. I finished uploading stuff at dA but that’s it. I have hardly been on my sites forum nor any other. I sussed out the new C3 but that was pretty much it. I haven’t done any PS stuff and I need to catch up in school work. I just keep working and working and I still feel far behind. Something that I have started doing a bit more is code. I’m putting everything into that and school. I’ve been looking around for a blank GBA Flash card that I can send a cheque order to purchase in Australia. Which is very hard to find.

I absolutely need one though. So that I can start some homebrew dev on the DS over the Christmas holidays. I could always pick up a v1.0 PSP and do that but it’s a bit too costly. I might have to though. In any case I have regotten back into code. I’ve been working on doing some exercises in my C++ book. I should be working on some online tutorials in a few days and in a few weeks another book. Something that I want to focus on is creating applications. So that I can code on my own and when I do start homebrew I can stick some apps on a console. In any case I’ll be working on some normal applications. I’m planning that by the end of year 12 I should be starting on some small project. Hopefully a game of some sort. How exciting.

A good friend of mine has valangela fever and has been away for the past 3 weeks, I found out at the start of the week that he wouldn’t be at school until next term. I didn’t think it but I really miss him heaps. Just shows how important he is. I think that I’ll get him a get well soon card.

Broadband is also in our area now which is a saving grace as our current ISP keeps on screwing up. I hate it! Thing is I need more money. I have been saving for the China trip which means I don’t have much. I might buy a USB next week and something for my Mums Birthday. Luckily I start work soon so I can make some money. Finally!! I can’t wait to buy a music player and some more CDs. Not to forget catching up in games.
I’ve decided that this might be my last entry here as I might be making my own blog. I have found a nice template for it, my brother should be able to make a comment/guestbook system among other things. I can’t wait. Until then…I’ll be hard at work.

Karma and Effect

September 10, 2005

Things been pretty good with me.

Firstly my brother and I went well in our interviews and we both have the job. We are hoping to get in a specialized area so that we can continue after the Christmas break. I think that I’ll put away some money for the China trip, buy a mobile phone and an MP3 player. Then the latest Fingereleven album and their self titled album.

Been going good with the friends. Have plenty of good events to look forward to with them. In 3 weeks we are going to a Super Smash Bros Melee state tournament. I still need to work out bus and train times but it should be good, specially since it happens every 4-6 weeks(Nintendo tourneys). Then there’s the Canoe challenge, this week one team member completely called it quits on us and our replacement has been sick all week. Overall it is good because we are getting a much better person. Then there’s about another 5 things going on nearer to the years end.

I like to make goals for things, ie the term, the week, the holidays, so that I can plan to get thru what I need to. So far I have completed all of my goals(for the term) bar some programming ones, so I’ll have to be catching up in that. Been so wrapped up in school and Zelda Minish Cap. God that game rocks. The homebrew dev and release of my site has really hindered me quite a bit though. At least it puts me forward in some way.

I’ve also been thinking about choosing Chinese as a career. It would be great but I am going to decide that after the upcoming China trip.

I’m also most of the way through my uploads of art pieces. Which is cool. Got 2 +favs in the past 2 days! Still trying to find some great brushes….for PS7. I’m getting there. I might make some kind of piece with a collection of my sigs in it. Made some new ones this week and they look great. Should be fun.

Got 3 tests this upcoming week, need to organize the canoe challenge and the SSBM tournament plus I need to see about booking tickets to a Jamiroquai concert. I found someone else that wanted to go; my cousin. I’m going to her birthday dinner on Wednesday so I’ll see about it then.

Anyways got to crackdown on some code. Then revision for the tests. Oh and I need to fill out job forms on Monday.

Things keep going well. Looks like I’m getting some karma back.lol

With a little help from my friends

September 2, 2005

Something that I have realized recently is just how many friends I have, Its just so great, You see I’m not really use to it. For the past 10 years of my schooling there have only been a 60 people in my grade(well about that). Since the start of the year me and my mates have (as is with our school once you reach yr11) have moved to a new and larger campus. With about 220+ people in our grade. I just love it, I can walk from one lesson to another and say hi to about 5 of my friends. Its so fantastic. Oh and there’s plenty more girls this time around which is also great.

I still need a good source of money though. Which is fortunate as I have a job interview this weekend. I hope that it goes well.

Still chuggin’ along at school. Need to catch up in Physics a bit though. Oh and I’ve filled in my subject choices as well.

It also looks like I’ll have to wait a while until I can start some homebrew game development on the DS/PSP which sucks. Two reasons why, the UK,Australian and New Zealand PSPs all come with Fireware 2.0 which is protected against that kind of thing. Hopefully the hackers can break thru it soon. I need a blank GBA cart for my DS which I need to buy online and since I don’t know anyone with Paypals or the right credit card(that will let me use it) I have to wait until I turn 18 and can start buying stuff.

Well that’s it. I’ll keep you guys up to date on how my interview went with my next entry.
