Wishy Washy Special

October 31, 2005

Geeze, how things can change quickly. This last week’s been really up and down. Had the Canoe Challenge last weekend which was great. Our team can 4th. We had some really memorable moments which was great. I reckon that it was the best expedition that we have ever had. Then James and I had to pull out an oral presentation for English in no time. Which went great. Got 85% and the class seemed to like our little GTO clip. I spent the first few days, trying desperately hard to catch stuff up at school. Then after realizing how much I sucked for the Chinese oral exam I also needed to get that in gear. Don’t worry I managed to get that one done well. By the end of the week I felt as though I’d caught up in everything. I even managed to upload some of my tutes on dA. Things seem to be going well there. So the first part of the week was real tough and then the rest of it was a much brighter outlook.

On the weekend I managed to get plenty of stuff done, school, site, code etc. Just when I thought that I was having a shit day on Sunday I get a call from work to let me know that I have some hrs. Which works in well for these Coldplay tickets that I wanna pick up and when I get some hard earned $. I can’t wait to start, it’s a pity that my brother, myself and a friend from school were in the last 4 people that hadn’t been rostered.

Today I had my Chinese oral exam in town which went very well I think. It wasn’t really much to get worried about, I actually enjoyed myself. I also managed to get talking to some dudes that I don’t normally speak to, which was great. Oh and I found out that someone else I know wants to go to the Coldplay concert. w00t! All I gotta do now is to keep up and by the time I’m up to scratch exams will come and then Christmas holidays. Yah! Got some big plans, Chris and I want to have a few functions, might have the mates over to watch the whole(yes the whole) GTO series. Well I know one person that is willing to come and watch the whole damn series. I’m sure that one or two others would be interested. Did I mention that 24 is now on 2 nights a week? I know my life couldn’t get much better ATM. Good things come to those who wait, oh and try hard!

Life is for Living

October 18, 2005

Had a hard time thinking of what to choose for a title, I’m really happy so I think that this one should fit the bill.:)

First day back at school today I feel really great and even more so busier. I haven’t done much since my last entry, especially since it wasn’t that long ago.

Had the mates around on Saturday which was probably our best get together at our place yet. I showed my friend Matt some game stuff, we played some Quake over our network, he beat me which I was surprised at. Both of us were no match for Cam, geeze he’s pretty good. Played some other games as well, it was all really good fun. We all seemed on a high really, for some reason we were all just so pleased with being there and everyone was getting along well. Matt fits in really well with my school friends which is so pleasing. The only real problem was that James could only say for 1 and a half hrs. I hardly got to talk to him really. Supposively he kicked everyone’s ass in Quake which was really surprising. Chris and I are planning what were going to do for the Christmas holidays. It will involve a bit more online, with some Mario Kart. Since we should have heaps of cash were gonna try and make this the best event that we’ve ever had. Even more so than our last B-day. Oh and on the Monday I went over to my mates place;Johns. Cam came a little bit later too. We finally had some new games to munch on that John had picked up. Wario Ware Touched and Mario Power Tennis. We played MPT for about 5hrs straight, we were just so into it. We played doubles with Chris and myself onto John and Cam. It sucked they wooped us. That was until I picked up on their stratergy, finally got it thru to Chris and then leveled the plain. Although it took me a while to get the point.

The first day back was great. We have a new bus, I think. Its nice. Been talking to plenty of people about the holidays. Really chuffed I seem to get along well with everybody. Its great because I try to make good conversation with people, something must be working then. Oh and I got an 82% for a Physics prac which I think might even be the highest in my class, even beat Troy by half a mark, now that’s saying something.

All of this positive stuff is great but I unfortunately have a bit too much to do, a Maths A test this Friday, English oral on next Tuesday, Physics excursion write up which will be due on Monday for weekend homework which is bad because I have the canoe challenge to do. I mean I love canoeing but I won’t have much time during the week.

So I’d better piss off and get onto some Maths. Just thought that I’d say that I’m feeling great. Oh and I’m doing really well in IT. My teacher seems to want to teach me(exclusively) some extra work that will be in the year 12 course. I’m really shuffed, because although I initially hated databases I really enjoy it now. Its just really easy and its fun to structure them. Weird?!

Last thing, I’ll get some more updates up soon, maybe a profile and plenty more pics for the gallery. Might not be able to post many friend ones if any as they don’t seem that keen on it. At least I can post my Gundam piccies, that’s right made a Gundam on the weekend, I was given it by some friends for my B-day, Chris has one too. Wish I could make it.

I want to Live in a Wooden House

October 15, 2005

Taken from We never change from Coldplay, suits the mood really.

Okay lets see, done a bit since last time. Spent a few days doing nothing much really. Got back into volunteering at the library which is great. Gotta get 60hrs for my Duke of Ed Gold Award. Should have done 15hrs by the end of the holidays. w00t! Went over to some mates places which was cool. Its been good one of my friends has been in contact with my brother and I like almost everyday. Either meeting him or ringing each other up. What a true friend.

Been playing the ol’ Playstation a bit recently. Went thru some old games but have been stuck to the excellent Vagrant Story. I never got into that game beforehand but I figured out where I went wrong and have been lapping it up. I read today that IGN gave it 9.6, well deserved. It’s the only game that I’ve been playing. Wait I’ve been pissing around in the Timesplitters 2 multiplayer, finally got a good work out of that at my friends place. It was great just 3 of us who are really into the game unlike the aforementioned person whom isn’t a bit fan and hardly plays seriously. So we got a good run thru, about 4hrs worth, we were having a blast. So I’ve been playing a bit of that as well.

The volunteering has been great, since Chris(my brother) and I have been doing it during the week we have met a few more people that work there. In fact we’ve become quite popular there. I really enjoy volunteering there, I don’t know why but I really enjoy it. It’s relaxing and its good to help people. One of the people also told us about how we’d apply for a job there, volunteers get first notice on job opportunities. I’d love to work there. Talking about work I should start next week or be allocated a position then.

For the first part of this week I did a truckload of programming and revision(BTW new tutes up at NRX, one done this week and the other 3 last week). Don’t think that I’ll be able to make my goal in programming this holidays. Its just so hard. Thing is I spent most of the revision time on Maths B and that’s it! I started going on a bit of a revision binge. Eventually burnt myself out, just couldn’t get some of the latest stuff whatsoever. After that I didn’t do too much. Had trouble sleeping for the most ridiculous reason. Drinking too much water, gotta get up and pee. On Thursday I didn’t do much woke up at 11AM went to volunteer ’till 4pm got home, walked around aimlessly for 1hr, had tea and then a Vagrant Story binge for about 3hrs. Crazy. Today I was so spaced out after mowing the lawns I spent an hr pulling out weeds from the front lawn because I just wanted to. Had nothing better to do. Just spent the last while getting irritated at the damn programming book. They cover too much too quickly, most of the basics in 60 pages then they expect you to know all of that and jump into the exercises doing stuff they hadn’t even told you. Oh well. At leats I can get thru about 6/13 of the exercises. Not all of them are meant to be 100% complete all of the time. But if I see another annoying const char to char conversion syntax error argh!!! What I’m doing is University level anyways. They are assignments really.

I’m feeling half spaced out ATM. Too much at once. I spose that I’m just one huge anxiety bomb. Least I’ll be able to see some mates tomorrow, ah yes James, haven’t seen him in 6 weeks due to him galangel fever.Miss him dearly.

BTW been hiring out a tonn of stuff from the library, here goes:

CDs
- The Long Road-Nickel back
- Nirvana (self titled)

Music DVDs
- The Scientist-Coldplay
- Live in Verona-Jamiroquai (100% jealous of Jays dance moves officially)
- Live in 2003-Coldplay

Books
- How to create virtual beauties(manga chics that is, 2D,3D,animations,might try it out)

BTW did I mention that Chris fucked up my Winamp? Can’t see it in the taskbar now. Toss.

Seven Days

October 3, 2005

Phew, glad that I’ve been able to write this entry up. I was meant to do it last Thursday but have been too busy so I’ve been working on it today.
Lets see here, last weekend picked up these CDs:
Fix you-ColdplayParachutes-ColdplaySeven Days-Jamiroquai

Remedy-Seether As well as a remote control Mario kart, my brother picked up a 2nd one and Collision Course by Linkin Park and Jay-z. Been listening to them a fair bit.

Had a 3hr Chinese trial exam on Wednesday which was a real marathon. Didn’t do any homework for the rest of the week only to remember that I had a physics prac write up due on Friday.:( Don’t worry it was finished and handed in.

Was exhausted on Friday, Mum had Chinese with some friends for her Birthday I had to prepare a proper route for the Smash Bros tournament.. Rang up one of my friends who forgot about it and was at Victor Harbour for the weekend. Herm…quite disappointed. The other 2 mates that were going to come had a slight car crash on the way and couldn’t come. Initially I thought that it was pretty sad but it wasn’t really. It gave my brother and I a good chance to meet other people and get use to the whole thing. With our mates there it would have been slightly awkward. The whole event for the console players was pretty sloppily arranged. It had real potential. It was fine though, meeting people that I knew over the net. I met Tom the Bomb and aX. aX was a great dude we got along quite well and Tom was much more quieter than I had imagined. But he had been up for ages. Also got to met a few other people that I sorta knew which was nice. Got a chance to play Burnout revenge which is pretty neat. The best part would have been the 8 player Mario Kart. It was just as I had imagined. Infact better. It had no slowdown except in the first 3 seconds of showing the track into, the rest was flawless. I was so impressed. The random courses and players were okay as well. I had a great time with that. Ah yes. I am eagerly awaiting to play it again and with some better racers.

The transport there and back was easy as well except that the busses ran a bit late. Got to pick up something small from shin Tokyo as well. Damn I need my work hrs now, a whole tonn of great CDs I want from there.

Spent Saturday doing chores, preparing and planning for the holidays as well as some revision. I want to get back up to speed at school. I need to. I have so much planned to do so I better get busy.

Oh and today I had some mates around. Chris and I set up the PSone at my request the day before so we played some Worms Armageddon and the usuals. Should start work very soon which will be good as I’ll need some cash.
Another fantastic highlight has been the availability of PSP homebrew dev for 2.0 firmware. This rocks and means that I will be able to do homebrew by the years end. Can’t wait.

BTW I also managed make some PS brushes, my first attempt. I need to make some more before they go public on NRX. Got to make some tutorials as well. Anyways I have hardly been on the net for the past few days so that’s it. Cheers for reading.

Damn I was meant to shave like last week as well.:(
