Other Light

There’s always a time when you know that Summer really has hit Australia. Its not when your had your BBQs and days at the beach, oh no. You know that summer has really hit when the first scorcher comes in. That is a day so hot that it forms at least 10% of the days discussion and stands out like anything else. Its when you go outside and all you can here is the buzzing of flys that loom around your backdoor. That my friend is when you know its summer. And today is the first of the summer days. Unfortunately I had to be out and about in the heat.

Since my next work day is on Christmas eve morning(unless I take up some Thursday and Friday night shifts, which seems probable), I’m feelin’ really fine and I want to just chill out over the next few days and soak up some of the Christmas spirit. Since one of the presents that my Mum was going to give my Uncle for his Birthday(on Christmas day I believe) had broke on us I needed to head into town to pick it up. It’s a card, no ordinary card a special one that lists all of the events of the year in which the person was born and talks when you open it up. High quality stuff. The sound had screwed up so I offered to go into town and fix it up. Went into town, nabbed the card and had got off at my respective train station, unfortunately the bus that I would have to catch went off just as I was walking to the stop. Idiocy I told myself. Argh. I didn’t want to wait another 50 minutes to get home. So I decided to walk home, which changed to going to the new Mc Donalds and after realizing that I didn’t have enough for a Happy meal I went to Johns. Luckily it was one of his days off and I just caught him returning from Harvey Norman. Had lunch at his place and had a good ol’ chin way. That was great. He’s really caught up with work. 37 hrs a week, phew. Then I headed off to Matts place and we had another good ol’ chin way. Watched some trailers and game stuff on the net. Showed me round his PC a bit. I’ll try and pop in again this week, if I can. Or see if I can do something with someone else. Maybe James? Beats me.

On other things, Chris and I got our reports today(and so did John, lol) Chris got Dux in English and some award for Rave. He’s pissed off as he wanted to get something for Maths or IT. Wonder who got the IT award then. I’m happy with my results, I out did Chris is Physics and IT which is just what I wanted. I’m only a few % off in Chinese and well Maths lets just say that he’s a fag. Lol, he did good. The new NRX is going well. So is my C++, works fine as well which is great. Kicthen sucks, won’t be finished until January 15th, ie holidays= semi ruined. As Chris and I are the big hosts for holidays activites. We will figure something out. Least new years is sorta covered. Other than that things are pretty cool.

Open Ended And Double Barreled

December 10, 2005

Just snooping around a bit I’ve noticed the lack of updates for this place. I need to make some small edits when I get round to it. Few image ones from a while back. My Gundam. Sigh, although it really won’t matter for much longer anyways.

Things have been kinda all over the place its weird. Managed to pick up everything that I need for the rest of the year in Adelaide with John and Chris the other day. Including some all of my Chrismas shopping which includes the ever alluring selftitled Finger Eleven album. That ones for Chris, he got it early.;)

Worked my 18 hrs, got an extra hr at the end of one of the days which was great. I’m closing in on that laptop I should be able to pick it up by the start of January as planned. I also saw it in town in a few shops. Got plenty done that day, very wholesome.

The kitchen has been delay until this Thursday which is so frustrating as we have to cook our meals on a small BBQ and do dishes in the laundry. It also means that Chris and I can’t do much until its finished. Which also sucks. Went over to Matts the other day which was great. Other people have been busy with this retreat so it’s a bit of a pain but somewhat convenient. Oh and the computer had to be fixed for about a week which was also bothersome.

Other than all of that I’ve been pushing thru NRX 4 stuff, catching up on my reading and playing some games. Once the kitchen is up we’ll start doing somethings. Chris and Garrion want to have another lan thing and everyone else is petty keen on that, I gotta figure out what to do with some other friends as well not sure how to tackle that one, gotta start the GTO marathon, have a few gatherings and I want to have a BBQ sometime. At least once the laptop is bought it’ll be easier cash wise.

That’s it really. Didn’t know what to say but that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m really excited about this new content for NRX, its not just one or two new sections its much much more than that.
