Unfinished Symphony

Most listened: Lucky Man-The Verve

Most interested: Customization, tweaking

Another music based title, based upon the excellent song by Massive attack and mixed by the legendary Paul Oakenfield in 1990. Its just such an emotional song that doesn’t try to be.

I’ve added the most listened/interested bits in for reference sake when I look back at the entries.

I’ve been setting stuff up recently, tweaking it and getting things right. Done quite a bit.

Themes

I’ve had a look around for some high quality themes for Opera, Trillian and WindowsBlinds. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any decent Opera ones but thats fine as the default skin is pretty neat. I’ve found a cool new Windowsblinds theme and a great Trillian theme based on Windows Vista. The colours of the themes go together so I’m really pleased with it.

Winamp

Finally got my head around my music. After doing some research over @ Winamp.com I’ve learnt to never use the WMA format again. After looking at my options I’ve gone for the popular MP3 format. It has better sound quality than WMA as well. I was gonn go for Ogg Vorbis but Windows hides the file format details and there is limited support for it. So I’ve found a MP3 ripping program that updates my music and allows me to select the right CD details from their database showing me the likely choices. So I’ve been syncing it all into Winamp(which is now updated to v5.2). Man its so much easier.

Desktops

Also found some great wallpapers.

So my laptop is almost supped up.

School so far has been a challenge, there are fewer assignments thanks to the types of subjects but there is plenty of work to push thru. I gotta try and get thru it all. Been spending more time with my friend Garrion which is great, we talk more than what we use to. He’s such a funny dude. Chris and John are hooked on Animal Crossing, I haven’t got into it yet. I’m not 20% thru GTA3, go me!
Been making some new content for the site. An old template from last year was set up for release and I made 2 Mario based sprite wallpapers. I haven’t done anything this week as I’ve had a cold and haven’t been able to do much. I am resting pretty well though, I need the rest.

I am having fun working on the site, the forum is going much faster than before, I still haven’t touched of the features available yet. Its crazy. I can see the potential that the site has and have seen it use some of it recently. The site can become much more popular once we add more content to the site and arrange some things.

Thats it from me, chow!

Wild World

February 12, 2006

Been thinking about this issue with my career path, its still bugging me, I’m not sure where to go or what to do. I feel like I’m constantly wasting time having not made up my mind. I just need to be given the right answer. But I’m not sure where it lies.

Something that I have realized is that one of the main reasons why I’d want to go to China so bad is that if I were to work there all of my other worries would be put aside. I wouldn’t need to worry about breaking into the games industry or anything like that. It would give me the control and remove the anxiety that I have on this subject of an IT future. Something that I want to set myself up with is an easy future. I want to live a life where I don’t need to do much work and can still have enough cash for the stuff I like such as game, animes etc.and pursue those passions. I really want to freely do my IT passions like game dev and graphic design. So to do that would require a not IT career(well maybe a bit of IT for stuff on the side).

I think that I’ll do some proper research into obtaining a job in a chinese language field. Because if you read what I’m saying it sounds ideal to me. It seems likely that the only thing stopping me is the obligation that I need to become a game developer because thats what I’ve always wanted to do.

From here I guess that I do some research, check out the web, talk to my Chinese teacher or head into China town. If I see no problems with it then I’ll go for that idea.

Blogs are so great as I actually feel as though I’ve made some progress. Yay!

I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress.

In other news NRX has been going fine, speeding up quite a bit, we still need more action from our newer staff members which just lain out sux imo. But every other staff person is going well. Lucius has jumped back aboard as a site contributor with his sprites which he seems very keen on continuing. I’d like to make him a staffer later on as he seems dedicated.

Chris picked up Animal Crossing Wild World for the DS today, saved $20! Its a nice game except I have an ugly looking character. :(

Also I only noticed today, my stand alone DVD buttons on my laptop(haven’t tried the remote control yet) have some how instantly synced in with Winamp. Which is so damn groovy. Although now Windows Media Player(boo!) won’t update any of my music. None what so ever! Which is complete garbage as it keeps on messing around with my music. About 30% of my collection is not properly named and has box art yet!!! Grrrrrr

I feel like eating some serve yourself Chinese food from China town right now….
Toodles!

Sunday Bloody Sunday

February 5, 2006

Man I love that song. Its such a great song. Plus its the Sunday before school, before year 12 so I guess you could say that its appropriate.

This is now on and exclusively on my NRX blog. That is correct. Version 4 is out, its been going quite well so far. Unfortunately one of our artist is on holidays and another new staff member is MIA but its still pretty good. Not too many difficult errors. Our push towards making the site and forum one seems to be really paying off. The forum skin isn’t as annoying as I initially thought. Its great having it all together. Although I have been overwhelmed with everything to do. I only set up my RPG character today, still need to get the clan started up. Phew!

In reference to my last entry, I have done some thinking..again and have decided to continue programming and not give up. If the opportunity arises where I can go to China and do all that jazz then hey, I’ll take it. I’d really like to do that though. It would be lots of fun.

Kinda nervous about school, I was talking to a friend before about it and he was just like me which was really suprising. Don’t wanna talk anymore which is the great thing about blogs. Seeyaz
