Most listened: Yourself or someone like you - Matchbox 20
Current longing: More free time?
Yay, exams are finally over. It’s been one unusual week. I’ve met a series of people Iknow on public transport. Yeah, nevermind. Lemme just run thru all of the trial exams first. Chinese was a cinch probably got around 85%. Maths Studies wasn’t too bad. Maybe a bit over 50% for that one. Physics was incredibly hard. I was finding it fine and then I checked the clock and found that I only had an hr to finish 10 of the 30 pages. Yikes. We should have had 4hrs for the exam, not 3! The questions weren’t too bad in terms of difficulty, but there was just so many of them. The exam killed me as I really need to put every question into perspective before I do it and doing that so quickly…phew. Maths Specialist was just such a poor quality exam 30% of the test was based on about 6 pages of work. It was so infuriatingly annoying and just so simple yet stupid Maths. Its not a challenge when the bloomin’ question is so dumb. Argh.
The rest of today(well..yesterday) has been pretty good. I met Alysha on the train back home which was great. I haven’t seen her in ages, it worked out quite conveniently actually. Spent a few hours preparing for the holidays. Then Matt came around and I spent some quality time with him. He left at about 12:30 and now I can’t sleep.
We were talking about parties. You see(been mentioned a while back), my friends and I aren’t the kind of people that go out to parties and attempt to get as drunk as possible. We are fairly responsible folk. Our parties usually consist of a a few set ups, being the nerds we are, we have some consoles set up, a small LAN, the portable consoles, some table tennis and usually some kind of anime involved as well. Its a plethora of activities thats a great social gathering, everyone loves it. My brother and I are generally the host of the fairly significant parties of this nature.
Now Matt and I were talking an idea that I have got stuck in my head recently. For a while now I have wanted to break that mold a bit. Chris and I always ensure that everyones having fun, we don’t just sit infront of the TV and play, we talk and play, socialise. Break it up a bit. So despite being a nerdy affair its a fairly social one. Matt and I were talking about not including games and trying something different. What seems to be the vast majority of people spend their party time trying to get as drunk as possible, we don’t want that. But we want to have that sort of more adult atmosphere without the idiocy that comes from drunkeness.
So we were proposing ideas on what we can do. I proposed that we have some sort of BBQ as Chris and I spent many nights using the old barbie when the kitchen was being renovated last Christmas holidays. But we weren’t sure of what the medium of the night would be. How people would keep themselves amused. Sure we could put on some music and everything would go well enough, mix it up with some table tennis and yay all good. But(imo) with music and people socializing we need dancing. Now most of my mates are guys so that creates somewhat of a problem. We also need to ensure that the guys just don’t wanna go inside and play some games.
Hmm, how to overcome such problems. Firstly, most of my femmy friends are from a variety of different ’social’ groups. Therefore we’d have a fairly uneven distribution of people. Wouldn’t turn out too well then, well yeah…tricky to judge.
So were not sure what to do ATM. We had this great idea that we make it an afternoon party and set up a mini golf course, with other activities going on. But thats more of a mates thing, plus the idea does sound a bit far fetched.
Trying to get people to stay outside and not actually hop inside and play games is the other difficult task. We could just launch the idea and see how it goes. It wouldn’t turn out too bad. So we’re thinking that perhaps we can incorporate the idea with this party that Chris wants to have after the Wii comes out. Not sure.
I don’t think that we are the sorta group of people to do that kinda thing. We’re gonna have to figure out a way about it. Whether or not we should have some kinda dance activity or just a general party atmosphere. In anycase we hope to be trialling the new ideas in some form over the final holidays so we’ll see how we go.
Got any suggestions danielprimed@gmail.com
Thanks, DP
Might get some progress on the new blog/portfolio site this holidays, you never know

About
Myself

Daniel Primed, thats me!
I’m Daniel Johnson, an 18 year old dude from the Southern end of Australia. I am currently a student studying Chinese, linguistics and design at Univerity, subjects which really interests me. Much like any person my age I enjoy spending time with my friends and family but specifically I have interests in video games, anime, Chinese, digital design and music. I also hold a steady casual position as a salesman for Australia’s most successful retailer; Myer.
When it comes to my personality I consider myself to be an confident individual. Confident because I have great passion in my interests and great love for my friends and family. I have a high moral standard and am a hardwork. Whether it be selling electronics, relaxing with my closests mates, debating my love for Jamiroquai bootlegs or just rambling on to some random stranger about my some gaming title that means the world to me, I’ll be doing it with a passion.
I also run a new blog about web success, motivation and lifestyle, you can find it here.
PrimeScape
PrimeScape is my gaming blog, full of awesome posts and interesting content. You already knew that right? This blog hasn’t always been about games though. Around about April 2007 I decided to take turn the focus away from me and onto video games. With this change, the way I saw the blog had changed . I wanted to now write for an audience and had to change my writing style accordingly. So hopefully, you have found the content on this site to be well written and informative. That’s the aim folks.
Blogging History
Primescape was my very first blog and despite the change in focus has been going for 2 years. Over one hundred articles have been written for the blog, from everything about me to photography to video games. PrimeScape had very small beginnings, it began on a blogging system at the Nintendo based website Cubed3.
After only about 4 posts at Cubed3 I gave blogging a break for 3 months and returned to blogging now at my deviantART profile. This lasted for about a month until I created my own webpage to accomodate the blog.
I called this blog PrimeScape, a name that would stay with the blog. The old site was difficult to update as it didn’t have its own CMS. Which meant doing everything manually. So it was difficult keeping up to date with the site. Usually I’d upload numerous entries at once.
Due to the difficulties with my own PrimeScape I decided to use the Opera blogs for a while until my new site came out(NRXdomain). Once that was released I used that system until I finally resorted to wordpress as well as gaining my own domain name. After a few months with a template less design, Scrap Book was adapted to CSS and that has been used since Feburary 2007, abeit with modifications along the way.
After a couple of months, I change the focus of the blog from myself to my passion; video games. This saw some user friendly modifications to the design as well as a change in my blogging habbits. I quickly decided to post more often, from about twice a week to 3 to 4 times a week. I also spent more time on quality control and research.
After about 2 months of this PrimeScape saw another revision and some slight design changes. I also launched my second blog; Success in the Digital Life.

Stillness in Time
September 26, 2006
Most listened: Runaway - Jamiroquai
Current longing: Friday
Gotten thru 2 exams so far. Weren’t too bad either but they were the easist exams of the 4 that I need to do. Being Maths Studies and Chinese. The Chinese trial exam was the same as last years trial exam so I blitzed it fairly well. Very pleased with that. Maths Studies wasn’t too bad either. I got thru the whole exam with some time to spare. Although I did miss a number of questions but it wasn’t too much. I already know that I’ll do fine with the final Chinese exam and Mtahs Studies isn’t really that hard. Since I have 5 weeks to prepare for the final one I should do fine.
That leaves Physics and Specialist which won’t be as easy. I have Physics tommorow so I’ll see how I go. Then I have a day to prepare for Specialist. Been a bit slack on the Physics this afternoon though. So I had better work hard tomorrow morning then.
Been doing some research into using a Linux distribuion; Ubuntu. The OS is pretty sweet, plenty of options, the desktop environment is based on Gnonme and the system based off Debian which is also great. I’m just unsure of a few things as of yet. Mainly software and some other niggly issues. I can still use Opera which is great so theres a big problem solved.
Work was quite good on Sunday, we had a VP card holders night which didn’t have to work for. I tell ya, I’m so pleased that I didn’t have to work then as there were stacks of people getting ready for it(Chris finished up before it started). There must have been about 500 people at the initial line up. Everyone that day seemed fairly upbeat. I managed to do some stuff that I normally don’t, bring stock up, go thru the reserves etc. So I am pleased to have done something different. I also helped a pile of people with camcorders, they were really chuffed with my work. Then I bought Mum her Birthday pressies after work and everything was fine and dandy.
I’m actually feeling quite good about everything. Matts coming around Friday as well, so I’ll return the martial arts vids from my Chinese assignment. Chris is buying himself a wicked laptop as well. 256Mb graphics card, 100GB HD, 2Gb RAM and it has a variety of other cool features.
Not sure what I’ll do about this Linux idea, might go dual booting for a while before I format at the end of the year. Got plenty of space for it.
Also been planning stuff for the final holidays, never mind the one in a few days, go the final holidays. Chris and I are planning some party ideas. Should be sweet. We’ll probably somethings over the upcoming holidays, we’ll be working a little bit and have some school work to do as well as our own business but I’m sure that we’ll find time for something.

Runaway!
September 23, 2006
Most listened: Runaway - Jamiroquai, Keys to the world - Richard Ashcroft
Current longing: Death of revision
Revision is so lame, I hate it, argh! Its been a solid week of revision for me. I’ve also been fairly exhausted in the past week so productivity has been off somedays. Which has buggered me up a little bit. Burt not too much.
Thats the thing about revision. I have a list of stuff to do, but how well do I have to complete it to have actually learn it? I don’t know. Thats something that I can’t figure out.
Once the trials are over though I have 5 weeks to revise for the biggies. So I essentially have plenty of time. Which is good, I can rest a bit over the holidays and get good at the questions. Yay!
You know, I’m just dying to say something interesting but there’s nothing to say. I’ve been feeling a bit like that lately. eg. I’m rather anxious to meet someone but once I do its like. “So whats new? School Yeah sameUmm…yeah, can’t wait till school is over”.
I don’t even have anything interesting to blog about. Man I feel so lame and I hate people that are lame. Argh, school! 8 weeks until freedom. Yay, holidays.
Now for some rambling about my thoughts on the holidays.
So much stuff to do and not to do. 30+ games to push thru, another 10 (at least) to buy, parties, Wii launch, launch party? sleeping in, anime nights, LANs, cinema, shopping for CDs, Jamiroquai Greatest Hits, getting my driving lisence, work, cash, 4 player game sessions, broad band, Wifi, learning Chinese, going to China town, chilling with mates, catching up with old friends, reading my Jeffery archer books, photography, design. No school! Waking up and forgetting what day it is, working out, eating better, sleeping more, living.
That springs together a good idea. Just thinking about the Seven days in Sunny June film clip, having fun in summer. Yeah, great stuff. I reckon that Chris and I should host some kinda Summer party, get the old BBQ from out the shed, make tea for everyone, get people to bring stuff, play some table tennis, play some games, have some music running. Yah that would be pretty cool.
