This weeks linkies
May 29, 2007
I’ve got a nice little collection of links that I want to point out this week. But before I jump into that I want to post my QQ number up which is: 2060504 QQ is an instant messaging program which allows Chinese people to communicate easily over the internet. Other than than that I don’t know much else about it.
Firstly I’d better link out to something I saw a few weeks back on The Spriter’s Resource which was something that I’ve been meaning to find for years. That is the facial animations in the codec conversation for the original Metal Gear Solid game.
As I have been madly working on an essay this week I managed to stumble upon Google Books which I haven’t used before. Basically you search for books and then can stream a preview of the book. I actually managed to find a book online and then get it at the Uni library later on.
Last week I bought a Playstation 2 at a great price down at Harvey Norman(I’ll blog about this later). Now I managed to find out about the bundle that they had on sale at a website called Economical Gamer. The site has some great content such as the latest gaming competitions, discounts, events and also free games. This site is really helpful and I highly recommend a look.

My brother has been emailing me piles of links this week and the only one worth mentioning here is one about surround gaming. That is playing games on multiple monitors etc. We all wish that we could have this set up and surprising a few games do actually support it.
In the last few days Screw Attack have had 2 gaming vault videos on Megaman and Megaman 2 for the NES. These would have to be some of their best entries in this section. So definetly check it out as always.
The last link for this week goes to Andreas bard who wrote about self discipline. Something that I use to think I had quite a bit of. I always find his blog to be really useful and encouraging. So check it out.
And until next time, adiaos.

B-Side Photos Set A1
May 25, 2007
I’ve had a pile of photos sitting on my laptop which I wasn’t really sure what to do with. So I decided to create a blog entry about them as I rarely blog about photography and probably should.
Basically I’ve sorted out my photos and will have a series of new and old photos to upload once I have got them ready for the web. Some of these new photos are taken on the new Alpha100. Some are just old photos that I overlooked.
But for the rest, they are a part of my first B-sides collection. Lets have a look.

This one is kinda strange as its a pretty unattractive picture. But I can’t help but be intrigued by the composition of the shot. I’m also very happy with the out of focus background. I managed to make the corner completely unnoticable.

I like the detail in the pattern of this one and also the curved reflections. It was much harder to frame than what I originally thought.

I took a pile of photos on Christmas Day. Mostly of decorations and they were all good but I wasn’t sure which one to choose. This one has a nice flat look to it and some cute detail.

I think that this shot was a much better one, it feels much more inviting due to the colours. The decoration also doesn’t feel too imposing due to the angle and framing with the tree.

This one isn’t too bad either. It has a nice pleasant feel to it, soft colours and the leaf is illuminated from behind. I took this one with my new camera.

This shot just shows how easy it is to get a decent picture of birds if you have a decent camera. My 300mm lens allowed me to hide from the magpie and get plenty of nice shots. All I had t do was choose the best one. I like the pose in this one, it also contrasts the best with the background.

This is prolly my favourite shot in the set. The colours, abience and detail are what I think makes this so great. It also flows nicely.

The colours in the fore and background seem to match so nicely considering the little thought involved. This shot would take no time with the new camera, but because it was so difficult to get such good focus with the old one it deserves its spot.
Well there you go, don’t worry folks I am in the process of sorting out my best pictures to upload to my deviantART account. They should be up in the comming weeks. Well what do you think of my shots. I don’t think that they are terribly impressive myself. Can’t wait to take some more professional shots.

Home Improvement The path to a better PrimeScape
May 23, 2007
I’ve been working hard this year on PrimeScape and I’ve gotten to a point were I am happy with everything. I look at the site’s design and how attractive and user friendly it is and I am pleased.
What I have realised through trying to attract a larger readership is that people won’t stick unless there is something in it for them. And I don’t blame them, I’d do the same thing. This is where I am failing. I need to post better articles more often to have a better appeal. Sure I do post some great stuff when I have the time but I normally don’t(have the time) and only post 1-2 articles a week. That number isn’t sufficient and neither is the quality of my posts.
So in order for PrimeScape to make a name for itself I’m going to have to start improving my blogging skills. So from this entry onwards I am going to do my best to post 3-4 entries a week.
I also want to take this time to say another 2 things. Firstly I’ve added a ‘blogging’ category to the side bar. Secondly I just want to say something so I won’t forget it.
I want to present how I want the layout of PrimeScape’s content to run:

I want the blog to be based mainly on games as its a topic that I know a bit about. I still need to blog about my life as I will always want to blog about what’s going on with me. I think that its important that I do that as it adds more depth to my character. Then there’s a bit in there for my photography/design/other where I can talk about these other hobbies of mine.
In anycase the stage is now set. So stay tuned.
