Current longing: Not sure at this point, I’m feeling pretty good
Salutations friends from afar! I have grand olde news to proclaim to ye!
Er hum. If you are like myself and have been following the ever elusive tales of Daniel Johnson then put a smile on that dial as I have leaped a hurdle. That hurdle being of mountainous precautions.
Before I get started, the title is taken from an old Jamiroquai track, I don’t think that it was released. Only played in concert. The song is so hawt though. 10 minutes of toe tapping funk goodness.
If you have been reading from the past a year or so then you would surely know of my troubles in career and overall life direction. From programming, to Chinese language and then to digital art. Well I have concreted some stuff today(or tonight rather).
For some strange reason I decided to take the University and Tafe outline books to school today. The books explain all about courses offered @ Tafe(College) and at University and how to apply. Everything that us students need to know. We received them last week. I spose that I just wanted to read over them on the way to school. So I did for a few minutes. When I got home I really wanted to look at the Job Guide(big, fat book with info on all jobs out there, what they require etc.), so I got it out of Chris’ room and flicked thru and found some of the jobs that I wanted to go for and what I needed for them. Pretty standard really. Then I checked out the 2 course books and looked at what courses I thought that I should do. Well, what I was planning before, I also checked out the Tafe courses.
A few hours later after reading about heaps of courses and looking more indepthly on the web I came to a conclusion. The only thing for me was a one year Tafe Diploma which is actually quite good but I would prefer to study it longer and more indepthly. It wasn’t much of a qualification really. I was fed up, but I spose that I could have done that course and the multimedia course(which is what I thought I should do beforehand). It would have been okay I guess.
At that point in time I was on the brink really. It wasn’t really much at all, there was nothing decent that I could do. I went out and told Mum about it. Wasn’t much of a help really. She seemed kinda disappointed. Anyways, I was on the brink. Then I looked down the page opened infront of me and read the title. I start reading it and magically its reads out to be the ideal course for me. Like more than perfect. Even in the last year yet can have your own gallery up with other students and form contacts with people in the industry. The whole course is very industry based which is so great. OMG I am so wrapped. I can’t wait to bust some new work out. Although I am not gonna get time for it anytime soon. Bring on the end of the year.
The course set up also works lovely, no campus jumping or crazy locations like the other course. How great is that?
This whole year I have had this therom which is turning out to be truer and truer all the time. If you have seen Lost then you will know what I am talking about. This is especially true with Locke. When pushed to a breaking point when you think that you can’t go on and you have to prove something to yourself, the answer or at least some progress of sorts seems to reveal itself. This has happened uptieth(?) time this year. Perhaps this is its strongest move yet. In any case I should be fortunate.
I just can’t wait for the holidays, to get that SLR camera(I have picked it out too, on the weekend, its Sony’s 1st SLR A100), learn a bit more about Buddhism(I am interested in the religon, might be for me?who knows?) but most importantly get the good stuff moving and get a decent portfolio set up. I have the main design set up for it actually. Yay!
God Bless friend
